SsangYong Korando (2010) - a pre-styling version, which was replaced in the fall of 2013 by an updated Korando modification. The history of the brand's first crossover, which received a lightweight monocoque body and a simplified all-wheel drive system, began back in 1997, when the company began work on the C200 project. Having connected Italian designers to the creation in 2010, SsangYong introduced the modern Korando (the model name contains the words Korea Can Do - “Korea can”).
SsangYong Korando is offered in two versions: front- and all-wheel drive. Also available to buyers are two engines (2-liter gasoline with 149 hp and a 2-liter turbodiesel with 175 hp) and two gearboxes (six-speed manual and automatic). It is noteworthy that it is possible to combine drive types, power plants and transmissions in any combination.
In the case of the all-wheel drive version, Korando gets an electromagnetic clutch in the rear wheel drive, which connects the rear axle automatically or by force (at speeds up to 40 km / h). In addition, thanks to the Korando electronics with the AWD (All Wheels Drive) prefix, it can also simulate cross-wheel locks. The ground clearance of the crossover is 180 mm.
The car is one of the three most popular crossovers in the Ukrainian market, second only to KIA Sportage And Nissan Qashqai. The SKD assembly of SsangYong Korando has been established at the car assembly plant in Kremenchug.
